Tested Applications | WB, ELISA |
Target Information | MPO (myeloperoxidase) is a 84 kDa leukocyte enzyme stored in neutrophils and monocytes. |
Product Format | HRP Conjugated |
Alternate Names | Myeloperoxidase, MPO |
Clone | N9A3(1325F) |
Host | Mouse |
Isotype | IgG1 |
Immunogen | Endogenous Protein |
Epitope | Unknown |
Relevance | Part of the host defense system of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. It is responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms. In the stimulated PMN, MPO catalyzes the production of hypohalous acids, primarily hypochlorous acid in physiologic situations, and other toxic intermediates that greatly enhance PMN microbicidal activity.Additionally, systemic myeloperoxidase levels are significantly elevated in patients with acute coronary syndrome presenting with eroded culprit plaque compared with patients presenting with ruptured culprit plaque. |
Specificity | Human MPO |
